Festival of Lights at the Okerteich Forest Swimming Pool in Altenau
On 7 August 2027, you can once again look forward to a wonderful evening at the Okerteich woodland lido with family and friends. For the 27th time, the Okerteich in Altenau will be aglow with hundreds of candles and lights. At around 9 pm, together with light-loving fans of all ages, we’ll set light-up boats afloat on the Okerteich. The boats are included free of charge with admission for children.
In addition, visitors can also purchase light boats at the venue. The Festival of Lights will be accompanied by a varied programme of live music from several bands. Refreshments will also be available, including a wide selection of hearty and sweet regional dishes, as well as regional drinks and mixed drinks.
The Okerteich glows in the splendour of the lights
As well as impressive illuminations creating a particularly romantic atmosphere, a varied programme of live music awaits all visitors. A light show over the Okerteich is the highlight of the evening.
Particularly popular is the illuminated path around the pond, which is also lit up from around 9 pm. There, guests will find various light installations and creative lighting features all around the Okerteich. As dusk falls, these invite visitors to take a short stroll with the occasional stop, leaving them in awe. The various stops along the way will also be ideal for taking souvenir photos. For the first time this year, magical light creatures on stilts will also be making their way along the light trail.
